After reviewing this entire site and analyzing all of the complaints I have come to a conclusion of what the problem is; READ YOUR POLICY!!!! The problem is not Allstate, it's you not taking the time to read the policy from front to back. Even though it might take some time its very important. Insurance is very important, if not one of the most important things to have in your life. You need take the time to have a good understanding of what your policy covers and does not cover. You need to understand that every policy is rigorously evaluated and either approved or disapproved by your states department of insurance. And its also checked to make sure that its easy to understand and not misleading. If you have ever read an insurance policy you would see that 99% of the complaints on this website about a claim not being paid for is because it was clearly stated in the policy as not being a covered loss...READ THE POLICY!!!!!!!!
Believe it or not, I have no affiliation with Allstate, I came across this website while looking for a quote for insurance. I just thought I would pass on some piece of advice....

I had an accident where the other diver was found at fault and died at the scene. he was insured by Allstate. the accident happened 3 months ago. I've found the ajusters to be very rude, slow to respond, and I have yet to get a damn dime out of them........

I RETIRED FROM ALLSTATE CLAIMS 5 YRS AGO AFTER 35 YRS. I CAN PROBABLY ANSWER IN GENERAL MOST OF THESE COMPLAINTS AS I HAVE HEARD THEM BEFORE. ON PROPERTY CLAIMS, YOU NEED TO CONTACT YOUR INS COMM. AS THE COMPANY MUST FOLLOW THE CONTRACT AND SINCE YOUR INS COMM APPROVES ALL INS POLICIES, HE/SHE NEEDS TO CHANGE THE WAY INS COMPANIES DO BUSINESS. NO CO ,NOT EVEN ALLSTATE, CAN SURVIVE W/O POLICY EXC AND CONDITIONS. THEY MAY NOT BE FAIR,SO TELL YOUR INS COMM ABOUT SPECIFIC EXCLUSIONS YOU DO NOT LIKE, NOT THE CO.

I was told at times not to disscuss credit checks with new customers, and just to run them without letting the new customer know. I was told to get ss#/DOB/DL# and tell them it was inportant info in the event of a claim. I was actually in trouble at one point because I was losing sales for disclosing that I was going to run their credit. They often run credit on curent customers anytime they want causing a hit. Oh I got more too.

I worked for Allstate for years then I developed a soul. I quit in 2007. The Texas Credit Check which they told us to tell customers was a "Insurnace Scoring System" seemed to weed out minoritys and low-income households. Even if they had great credit.

We restore residential homes in texas and have to deal with Allstate claims every now and then. Allstate is owned and operated by CROOKS! And that is the truth!

Even though it was thier clients fault and he was doing something illegal. Not only that but they are giving us three more days with the rental to get a new car for nineteen hundred dollars. When my bf spent way more then what they offered on the car. And to add the cherry on the cake. My bf told the agent he refused the offer and the agent was supposed to call back with a negotiated offer. well he hasnt and we can't get ahold of him. So in the end my bf lost his car, may have lost his job, when this entire thing was thier clients fault. Yet they don't seem to care. If you have any advice let me know.

About a few weeks ago my boyfriend and I were involved in a car accident. A young kid talking on his cell phone which is illegal in pa made a right turn where we were from the left lane no signal nothing and of course he hit and almost killed us. He had all state insurance. Now this is where it goes down hill. They gave us the run around for two weeks. We didnt get a rental car until the second week in the mean time my boyfriends work is an hour and a half away. So already his job is in jeopardy for absences. Finally we get the rental have it for one day and the allstate agent calls back to give us the worst offer known to man. The damage is more then the car is worth so they plan on totaling it taking it and giving my boyfriend a measly nineteen hundred dollars. In the end allstate could sell my bfs car for parts and come out on top. SO really out of pocket they would only have to pay four hundred.
